I made it challenge: Croissant and Pain au chocolat

-I-MAD~2

Dear Tandy, from Lavender and Lime asked me to host this month challenge. And coincidentally I’m going through a challenge myself. Nothing serious, don’t worry.

My most recent challenges are Croissants and Pain au Chocolat. I love them, my kids love them… everybody loves them! But how many of us are able to bake our own perfect, flaky and buttery delicacies?  I just tried to bake a batch, and it was a disaster!

So this month our challenge is to bake at least one croissant and one pain au chocolat. Why both recipes? Because the dough is the same, so why not add a few pieces of chocolate and have two for one?

Who’s up for the challenge?

Don’t forget to link back to this post. For more info, visit Tandy at Lavender and Lime.

We have until midnight at the end of this month to post our recipe.

Have fun!

  1. Croissants isn’t the most easiest thing to make … I have never succeed. Well done … I love fresh croissants – but there is not many that can do them so flaky as the French. My hat of for you. *smile

      1. I try knew things … a couple of time per week, but I don’t like to cook things that take long time – I’m living alone .. so it has to be dishes that is easy to make and not leaving loads of leftovers.
Even if I’m a trained chef .. I never enjoyed baking as such.

  2. oh my goodness. Croissants have been my downfall, I have tried many times to make but they always come out heavy. I will have to do some research and see what I can come up with, Don’t be surprised if my post is just photos of me eating other people’s croissants 🙂

Thanx for a real out of the box challenge! Have a great day

  3. This is new to me! What a great challenge…let’s hope mine turn out:) Lynn @ Turnips 2 Tangerines

    1. Hi Lynn! This is new to me too, so I’m sure is going to be very fun trying to succeed with these… Have fun! I’m looking forward to see how you do it 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. This sounds like a fun challenge, I have not yet succeeded in making the perfect croissant, maybe I now will give it a shot! Thank you for the inspiration!

    1. Hi Karen! I’ll make sure to post only the good ones and not the 25 hard rocks that I’m sure will precede The One 😉
Would you give it a try and join us in this fun challenge? 🙂
Thanks a lot for your comment!

      1. I think you will do well as I have seen the lovely things you have baked. Unfortunately, my oven will not hold its temperature…it is a guessing game right now. I’m only using it for low and slow braises until it can be repaired. 😦

  5. I love them too! Thanks a lot for reminding me of them even more since I’m on a diet. LOL

      1. Hmmmm… I’m not sure I’ll be able to… I’m still trying to get that croissants and pain au chocolat out of my head. *sigh*

OK, let's talk
