Surprise pork ribs

These are surprise ribs, because I made them without following any particular recipe and the result is surprisingly good.

Fast, easy and delicious, what else could you ask for?

I’m trying to give you quantities, but truth be told, I added the ingredients “a ojo de buen cubero” (by guesswork), so feel free to change the quantities and/or ingredients to your taste. One more thing, back ribs are better than spare ribs for this dish because they have more meat.

Ingredients

1 kg pork ribs
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons mustard
½ teaspoon thyme
Garlic powder
 Salt and black pepper
 ½ tablespoon soy sauce
Roasted onions (like the ones from IKEA)

Directions

In a skillet sauté the ribs until browned. In a bowl mix honey and mustard, add the remaining ingredients except salt and pepper. Pour this sauce over the ribs. Reduce heat and continue cooking until the sauce reduces and the ribs are caramelized. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

  1. Shame on you! I haven’t eaten anything all day and you post a beautiful photo of these ribs. I thought we were friends!

These look great Gi but I stopped eating pork but it looks like I can do the same thing with chicken breasts. Gotta go eat. Have a great weekend.

  2. Sometimes the best dishes are those that “evolve” with no particular recipe in mind. We love ribs and enjoy them just as much with sauce as plain grilled. Will have to give this a go when my tomillo eventually grows back (Big Man thought it was a weed and pulled most of it out not so long ago … grrrrrr!)

    1. Grrrr, indeed!!
Luckily for me my big man isn’t that much into gardening, so no risk for my plants 🙂
Meanwhile you can use dried tomillo anyway…
Muchas gracias por tu comentario. Que tengas un día estupendo.

You have an amazing assortment of recipes at your blog; I loved all the recipes for bread; which is a pending issue of mine.
      Have a very nice day.
